When Georgia posted in a local women's business facebook page to introduce herself and her pottery, I had three thoughts:
- Oh my goodness her work is so COOL
- So is her name
- I have to photograph her
I considered how I might achieve this... given that I'd never met her and asking to photograph a stranger feels awfully close to online dating (I'm assuming). Do I have to play it cool, interact with her instagram posts for a little while before I make a move? Or do I just—
Before I knew it, I'd sent a message.
And then Georgia replied... and she was keen!!
A few weeks later, I was in her garage, camera in hand, yapping and clicking away while Georgia made these little lumps of mud rise up into fully-formed vessels. A few weeks after that, I sent back my own art. Here it is.
Georgia's pottery can be found online, and she shares updates about upcoming markets, behind the scenes of her work, and a bunch of other cool stuff on her instagram.
